Kintone's redesigned mobile app

Kintone announced a newly redesigned mobile app with a brand new user interface, better search and navigation capabilities, more intuitive workflows, updated notifications, and more. Kintone’s new mobile app was rebuilt to provide a more seamless experience for business users on the go.

The challenge most no-code solutions face is delivering a coherent experience when users transition from desktop to mobile. This new app addresses the disconnect by providing the full Kintone no-code platform experience on mobile devices.

While some no-code and low-code solutions offer mobile access by providing limited features on mobile devices, most do not offer full functionality of their platforms and typically customers have to build their own mobile apps to compensate, which does not provide a cohesive, on-brand user experience.

Heather Johnson, compliance officer at A-B Emblem, has been a Kintone customer for approximately two years. Johnson and her team transformed the company’s supply chain using Kintone’s no-code platform. A-B Emblem migrated their predominantly paper-based system to Kintone in about two months, building a Supplier Portal that consists of 12 suppliers, 14 users, and six no-code applications that help them manage internal purchasing processes.

“I've been using the new Kintone’s mobile app on a regular basis during the beta test period. What I really love about it is that I don’t really have to think about HOW to use it. I can focus on my work and not the function of the app,” said Johnson. “It’s intuitive, easy to use, and even easier to navigate. I can switch between domains when I need to. It’s just a common sense app."

Business users can benefit from the following robust functionalities and UX enhancement of the new Kintone app:

  • Full-text search which provides access to search the entire platform
  • Notifications that are easily accessible to view from the bell icon and refresh with a swipe
  • Ability to quickly move through workflows with more intuitive button layouts
  • Adding, editing, and saving records buttons in more convenient locations

According to Kintone CEO Dave Landa, the company saw a large gap between the desktop and mobile in the no-code market and wanted to address this lack of continuity in their new mobile app.

“As Kintone is ‘Mission Control’ for many of our clients, we understand that they need access to their data and critical operations no matter when or where they are,” said Landa.  "Our new mobile app supports the growing need for workplace flexibility to work anytime, anywhere. The new Kintone mobile app has better navigation and search capabilities, more intuitive workflows, and an overall better user experience, creating a seamless transition between the desktop and mobile device.”
