It's a Strange Marriage Between Two Fierce Rivals as Facebook and Google Join Forces

Show me the money! You hear that a lot on our website and it’s what drives the mobile economy. Companies might compete hard in the mobilesphere, but if there is a way to make money working with a rival, they might not be thrilled about it, but more cash is more cash.

Google and Facebook are doing just that with the announcement that DoubleClick Bid Manager has joined with FBX, Facebook's real-time bidding exchange. Soon marketers who are using DoubleClick will be able to buy inventory on FBX via the DoubleClick Bid Manager.

Why the uneasy partnership? Facebook gets more ad traffic (and more revenue) and for sending the ads, Google gets a slice of Facebook ad proceeds, which again means more revenue.

See what we mean? Show me the money!
