My Script's new SDK (Software Development Kit) allows third-party app developers to leverage handwriting recognition technology for natural human machine interface development on small surface devices

MyScript®, the acknowledged market leader in accurate, high-performance handwriting recognition and digital ink management technology, announces the release of MyScript Superimposed, the latest addition to its portfolio of award-winning handwriting recognition solutions enabling the natural human machine interface.

MyScript Superimposed provides a user friendly way to leverage handwritten input to perform quick tasks on small writing surfaces such as wearable technology (smart watches), smartphones, and infotainment applications (automotive consoles).

Utilizing MyScript Superimposed technology, users can continuously write characters on top of each other. This is useful when dealing with small writing areas or quickly accessing information on mobile devices. Using MyScript Text technology, the handwritten input is instantly recognized and converted to digital information for use by the target application.

With MyScript Superimposed, users can easily input phone numbers, write names or words, or draw gestures with their fingertips, making text entry very fast and efficient. The technology recognizes natural character handwriting including abbreviations, email addresses and more. Handwriting can be captured at rotations up to 40°, allowing for greater flexibility for mobile users.

“Enabling users to interact naturally with devices is more than a fad – it’s where human machine interface technology is heading,” said Jean-Marc Aichoun, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, MyScript. “MyScript Superimposed creates a versatile and natural way for users to interact with the latest mobile technology like phones, auto central consoles, watches and any wearable device. No matter the screen size or environment, users can enjoy the flexibility and freedom of handwriting with the processing power of digital technology.”

A Software Development Kit (SDK) is available for developers that would like to leverage the technology to enhance their existing applications with character over character handwriting recognition. The SDK is designed for leading operating systems including Microsoft® Windows®, Apple® Mac OS®, Linux®, iOS® and Android®.

The MyScript Superimposed SDK is available now. To learn more, visit the MyScript Developer Web Site http://dev.myscript.com/.
