Appcelerator developer survey results

Posted on Thursday, December 13, 2012 by RICHARD HARRIS, Executive Editor

A quarterly survey from Appcelerator took on some tough questions about developers interest in iOS, Android, and Windows apps and the companies behind their SDKs, and distribution.

While there is still a tremendous amount of interest in developing and deploying apps for the Apple App Store, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with Apple's constantly changing the rules most developers agree in the survey results.

Android doesn't come out unscaved either with some poor results stemming from device sprawl and fragmentation. But most developers are happy with the Nexus tablets and have expressed interest in developing for them.

Windows is still too new to really make an sense of the results, but just 20% of developers expressed interest in the platform.

The results were recorded after surveying close to 3000 independent mobile app developers.
