YoYo Games Announces GameMaker: Studio Update 1.2

Posted on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 by STUART PARKERSON, Global Sales

YoYo Games is boasting that its new release of GameMaker: Studio Update 1.2 will run games up to 100x faster than was previously available by harnessing the full speed of a CPU.

The cross platform offering allows developers to create games in a single code base and then publish them to run natively across a number of platforms including Android, iOS, OS X, HTML5, Ubuntu, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT.

The YoYo teams says they have made breakthroughs in CPU intensive areas such as artificial intelligence, procedural techniques, real time lighting, enhanced physics, real time geometry deformation, collision and data manipulation.

YoYo Compiler is free for customers of GameMaker: Studio Master Collection and is otherwise available as an add-on priced at $299.
