RingCentral has announced that it has expanded the integration of RingCentral Office capabilities into the Microsoft ecosystem providing integrations with Microsoft Outlook and Skype for Business.

Companies that utilize the Outlook PC client for email, calendar, and contacts list can use RingCentral for phone calls, SMS messaging, faxes, phone conferences and online meetings. The platform facilitates the ability to set up and start conference calls with the dial-in and online meeting link from RingCentral automatically added to Outlook calendar entries.

RingCentral’s integration with Skype for Business adds an additional communications environment option providing a RingCentral dialer widget, displayed as a “sidecar” adjacent to the Skype messaging window.. It allows companies to work with Skype for Business for messaging and still utilize the cloud communication services available with RingCentral Office.

The RingCentral for Skype for Business plug-in takes advantage of the WebRTC technology using for a number of its other integrations, including Google for Work and Microsoft’s Office 365 web applications. The plugin to the Skype for Business desktop software loads the WebRTC user interface inside an embedded browser – providing access to the platform without the need to download new software – as does the dialer and integrated contacts list featured in the RingCentral Outlook plugin.

The RingCentral Connect Platform offers developers a set of tools and services to build, deploy, and manage custom integrations through a set of open APIs. RingCentral can be  integrated with a number of SaaS providers, including Google for Work, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, and others.
