Xamarin has announced a new Amazon Fire TV Component to allow Xamarin Android apps to integrate Amazon Fire TV features such as Notifications and Game Controller.

With Xamarin’s new Fire TV API developers have access to the in-box Fire TV remote, the Amazon Fire game controller, and other game controllers that support the Bluetooth HID gamepad profile.

To gets started developers using the Xamarin platform need to add the Amazon Fire TV Component to their Xamarin Android app. Additional documentation including full samples for the Fire TV can be found on the component’s Getting Started Guide. More details on the Fire TV can be found on Amazon’s developer’s portal.
