Embarcadero Technologies has added the Wahoo Fitness Balance Smart BodyScale as part of its emerging new IoT devices for developers who build on connected apps for Appmethod. Embarcadero Technologies also plans to release results to its first annual “Software and Internet of Things” Developer Survey on January 14th, we'll be sure and keep you posted as the news gets closer.

Appmethod is the company’s multi-device application development platform for IoT solutions. While the platform allows developers to build connected apps for IoT wearables, sensors, cloud services, gadgets and devices, the Wahoo Balance Scale is able to track body mass index and weight. Appmethod allows Wahoo Balance Scale users and those in telehealth to supplement doctor visits with the connect apps in real-time. The wearable is capable of wirelessly transmitting data onto any smartphone, computer, Windows, iOS or Android device via Bluetooth. This device is part of a new category which can provide graphs and charts of a user’s progress for IoT telehealth.

IoT telehealth solutions like the the Wahoo Balance Scale allows biometric data the ability to be stored in the cloud. These data is distinct from other devices which are collated in providing a holistic health view and “observations of daily living” (ODL). The data assists in improving the day-to-day health of individuals.

Various types of ODL biometric data include sleeping patterns, heart rate, level of exercise, blood pressure, transmission of pictures/audio/video, glucose levels, metrics for depression, obesity, arthritis and more. The Wahoo Balance Scale is amongst many other emerging telehealth devices that are enabled for communication with a connected app through Appmethod.

The Wahoo Scale is one of many emerging new telehealth devices that can communicate with a connected app created using Appmethod. Appmethod’s software development platform allows developers to build natively compiled C++ apps rapidly which can connect to sensors, mobile and desktop devices, gadgets, cloud services, wearables and data. IoT ecosystem application architecture aggregates data from multiple devices and forms. This is growing and enabling new user experiences with wearables, connected devices, sensors and gadgets.
