PayPal recently introduced a new interactive online tool that helps demonstrate how the different PayPal API’s are able to interact in a live working environment. The new tool is called PayPal Demo was launched to allow developers to work through a working checkout experience without having to build or develop inside a live environment.
The new demo website allows developers determine the difference between the different PayPal payment options and how they will affect the end user experience. There are options to be able to configure different screen sizes and see how that is transferred to the user experience.
Once configured, developers are then able to see the code and are given best practice information which provides assistance and advice in performing the relevant integration. The new demo website also gives an interactive hands-on guide to see the end to end flow of a checkout.
The PayPal Demo tool also offers the ability to see the integration from different device and platform points of view, allowing users to switch between a web, mobile and native app view to get the full end user experience of the checkout and integration solution selected.
The PayPal Demo tool offers an interactive walk-through guide that will step developers through each part of the checkout experience explaining each step the user takes and the type of interaction that is expected as part of the flow.
The initial release will only cover a portion of North American options. There are plans to release to more countries and more API/SDK options in the coming months. There are also plans to release more options to customize the experience with merchant assets and branding.
