Dr. Alan Messer

Dr. Alan Messer is Vice President of Advanced Software Technology at Samsung Electronics’ Silicon Valley R&D Center, where he leads Samsung’s R&D into next generation consumer software technologies for convergence and software platforms. This encompasses the addition of software technologies for Samsung products, including AllShare, automatic content recognition, second screen and cloud content. Before joining Samsung, Alan worked at a variety of consumer electronics companies including HP Labs and Sony Electronics. Alan is active in the convergence of the device-cloud space and as President and Chairman of global home networking standards group UPnP Forum, he is a worldwide leader in connected devices, home networking and cloud service technologies for consumer products.
