IQVIA is hosting a COVID-19 healthcare app challenge open to individuals or teams as a hackathon-style competition using the IQVIA SDK to help users improve their health.

IQVIA has announced details surrounding the COVID-19 Healthcare App Challenge, a hackathon-style competition for developers that wish to leverage the recently released IQVIA HealthCare Locator Software Development Kit. Starting today, developers can sign up for the hackathon here and will have until June 28 to develop an app to help consumers locate and engage healthcare providers in their area.

The COVID-19 Healthcare App Challenge is open to any individuals or teams that wish to develop an app using the IQVIA SDK to help users improve their health. Winners will be announced on July 19 and will be judged by a panel of DevOps and life sciences experts, including Alan Shimel of DevOps.com and TechStrong TV. As a Hackathon for Good, all the monetary prizes will be donated to a participating charity of choice such as Good360, GlobalGiving, Asian Pacific Fund, and more. Competition winners will receive:

1st Place: $30,000 USD donation
Exclusive networking sessions with an IQVIA Chief Data Scientist and a Microsoft executive IT leader

2nd Place: $15,000 USD donation

3rd Place: $6,500 USD donation

Best Integration: $4,500 USD donation

4 Honorable Mention Winners: $1,000 USD donations

The IQVIA Healthcare Locator SDK enables mobile app developers to integrate healthcare provider (HCP) and organization information into their apps that are designed to help users find healthcare services in their area. Developers can seamlessly integrate HCP and organization information in as little as a few hours, as the SDK can connect any mHealth app to the database—which includes trusted records for 21.5 million HCPs and 2.5 million organizations worldwide updating in real-time. Developers can add HCP location and mapping to apps with pre-built search & map display screens, give users the ability to share profiles, and find specialized providers.
