Velocity Conference Offers Insights for Web App Developers

Richard Harris Richard Harris in Events Tuesday, April 21, 2015

Want to move past the daily grind of worrying about how to keep pages loading quickly, scaling infrastructure, and site reliability?

O'Reilly Media’s Velocity conference series will do just that as it gives web ops and performance professionals insight into the latest trends in web operations, end-to-end optimization, IT as a business driver, ubiquitous delivery for all (including mobile platforms), and more. The conference provides developers with real-world best practices for optimizing a site's web pages, including the performance of Ajax, CSS, JavaScript, and images.

The US conference sites and dates include: Santa Clara, CA on May 27-29, 2015 and New York, NY on October 12-14, 2015. Two other events will be held outside the US including Amsterdam, The Netherlands on 28-30 October, 2015 and in Beijing, China on August 12-13 , 2014. Pricing varies upon location and date of registration.

If you’d like to suggest or present a conference presentation, you can do so on the event website. The themes the event organizers are most interested in are End-to-End Optimization, IT as a Business Driver, Ubiquitous Delivery, and Deliberately Unstable Systems. They are inviting proposals from practitioners, C-level professionals, architects, developers, system administrators, operations managers, and others.

To help support diversity in the technology community O'Reilly Media is raising funds in support of the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). Attendees will have the opportunity to make a modest donation when they sign up and O'Reilly Media will match those donations at the end of each conference.
