The research firm Telsyte says 44% of all smart phones are now running the Android operating system in Australia, that's compared to 43% of smart phones running iOS – which is a very small margin. iOS tablets however are still the king even in the land down under.

The analysis reports that faster product cycles, and better carrier support seems to be the leading factor for the increase and Android usage, but no doubt has the android Samsung Galaxy III helped this overall boost as well.
